Best MCP servers for publishing a website

The right publishing connector depends on the site you have, where it should live and whether you need a server, a domain or just a free link.

TL;DR

Choose SayLive for a static site published from the conversation and paid once, Just Publish for a free link, or Netlify MCP for Netlify previews and deployments. Choose Vercel MCP when the project needs server code, and Wix MCP when the site belongs in Wix. These five options serve different jobs; features and prices below were checked on 2 October 2026.

What does a publishing MCP server do?

An MCP server gives your assistant tools it can use outside the conversation. For publishing, that means sending files, deploying a project or updating a site on a connected platform. The assistant still needs the right material and a destination that can run it. Connecting a tool does not make every project suitable for every host.

Start with the site, then choose the connector. A brochure made of pages and images, an application with server code, and an existing Wix site call for different decisions. The MCP explainer covers the connection itself; this comparison covers where it takes your work.

How do the five options compare?

Features and prices checked on 2 October 2026. The cost column describes hosting plans. Separate MCP fees were not established by the sources checked. Where a domain condition or price could not be verified, the table leaves it to the provider to confirm.

Unknown terms are a reason to check before choosing, not evidence that a feature is missing. In particular, this comparison does not establish Wix pricing or the domain conditions for Wix and Vercel.

When do SayLive and Just Publish fit?

SayLive fits a finished static site you want to publish and update from the conversation. It includes versions and rollback, a contact form, a review link with screenshots, and downloading any version as a ZIP. Your own domain can be connected once the site is paid. It does not run accounts, databases or server code.

The 30-day trial has a small banner. The €99 payment includes 150 publications, 50 MB of media, 25 form messages and 25 review tickets. Top-ups cost €19 each and do not renew. Use the pricing details to compare those allowances with the work you expect to do, especially if the site will change often.

Choose Just Publish if a free hosted link is the main requirement. Its free tier allows unlimited websites, 50 MB per site, 500 files and 5 MB per file, with no custom domain or analytics. Sites are archived after 30 days without traffic. Builder includes one custom domain, analytics, 200 MB per site and no archiving, for $9/month, month to month, checked 2 October 2026.

Both Just Publish tiers support MCP from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, alongside ZIP, folder and file uploads. SayLive supports Claude on every plan including Free, ChatGPT in developer mode on paid plans, Le Chat, Cursor, Codex and Gemini CLI. A free link with no planned payment is a reason to choose another option over SayLive.

When should you stay with a deployment platform?

Choose Netlify MCP when you want the assistant to link a site, create deploy previews and handle production deploys on Netlify. It connects to Claude Code, Codex, Claude through the Netlify connector, ChatGPT through the Netlify app, Cursor and VS Code. If that is already your destination, evaluate its connector before moving the site.

Netlify Free includes 300 monthly credits covering deploys, compute, bandwidth and requests. Its free custom domain support can matter more than a one-time payment if your usage fits that allocation. Compare expected use as well as the headline price.

Choose Vercel MCP when the project needs functions, code that runs on a server. The official server is in beta on all plans and manages projects, deployments, logs and analytics; the changelog also confirms code deployment. Its clients include Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, VS Code and Gemini CLI.

Vercel is the relevant option here for server code that SayLive cannot run. Check the intended use before selecting a plan: Hobby is restricted to personal, non-commercial projects. The Pro developer-seat price in the table was checked on 2 October 2026; do not treat a seat price as a complete estimate for every project.

What if the client already uses Wix?

Start with Wix MCP. The official server creates, updates and publishes Wix sites from an assistant, and is also a built-in Claude connector. For an existing Wix site, working in its current platform may fit the brief better than rebuilding for a static host.

SayLive is not the right choice simply because the work began in a chat. Choose based on the deliverable: a Wix site stays a Wix project, server code needs a suitable runtime, and a free-link request should be answered with an appropriate free option.

How do you make the final choice?

  1. Ask the assistant whether the deliverable is static files, a project needing server code, or a site tied to an existing platform.
  2. Check the connector for your assistant, then compare the domain requirements, intended use and plan limits.
  3. Publish a small representative version. Open the result and test navigation, images and the main interaction before committing the whole site.

Use the per-assistant publishing guides for setup and the review checklist for the published result. A connector is useful when the site it delivers actually matches the brief.

Frequently asked

Which MCP option is best for a free link?

Just Publish is a fit if its size limits and archiving after 30 days without traffic suit you. Netlify also has a Free plan with a monthly credit allocation. Check the limits, not only the price.

Can SayLive run my server code?

No. SayLive serves static files. Among these options, Vercel supports functions for code that needs to run on a server.

Should I move an existing Wix site to SayLive?

Only if rebuilding as a static site is part of the brief. Wix MCP can create, update and publish Wix sites directly from an assistant.

Does adding MCP make hosting free?

No. The connector supplies tools; the hosting plan still has its own price, limits and conditions. Match those conditions to your project.

When were these prices checked?

On 2 October 2026. Wix pricing and the domain terms for Wix and Vercel were not verified for this comparison, so confirm those with the provider.
