Publish a Gemini website
Where to publish my Gemini website?
The short answer, the five places the site can go, and how Gemini can publish it itself from the command line.
Short answer
A website written by Gemini is a set of static files, and Gemini does not host it: the Share button on a Canvas app gives a link that opens inside Gemini, fine for a demo and not for a business. To put the site on an address of its own you have four places: Netlify Drop and GitHub Pages if you handle the files yourself, Vercel for an application with a server, Just Publish for a free link from a ZIP, and a publishing connector like SayLive, which lets Gemini CLI, or Gemini Spark where custom apps are available, publish the site from the conversation for €99 once.
What Gemini hands you
In the Gemini app, a site takes shape in Canvas: a page previewed next to the conversation, which you can share as a public link. That link opens the page inside Gemini's own interface, on Google's domain, with no address of your own.
Gemini CLI, in a terminal, writes the files to a folder on your computer. Either way, nothing is on an address of its own yet, and publishing is the step that gives it one.
Custom connectors in the Gemini app exist but are narrow as of 13 September 2026: they work in Gemini Spark only, for personal accounts in the United States. Gemini CLI has none of those limits, which is why the connector route below starts there.
Where a Gemini website can go
| Option | Best for | What you get | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Share from Canvas | Showing a page to someone today | A public link that opens the page inside Gemini. No address of your own, no domain, no contact form. | Included |
| Netlify Drop | Someone comfortable with files and DNS | Drag the exported folder into the browser and it is live on a netlify.app address. A free account keeps it, and you add your own domain and its certificate yourself. | Free plan at $0 |
| GitHub Pages or Vercel | A project you will keep developing in code, or an app that needs a server | A repository, a deploy pipeline and a real address, github.io or vercel.app, with your own domain on top. Vercel is the only option on this page that runs server code. | GitHub Pages: free, but not for a shop or an online business. Vercel: Hobby free for personal, non-commercial use, Pro from $20 a month |
| Just Publish | A free link now, with a cheap monthly upgrade | Upload a ZIP of the files. The free tier lives on a justpublish.site subdomain and is archived after 30 days without traffic; a custom domain needs the monthly plan. | Free, or $9 a month with a domain |
| SayLive | A real site for a business, published from Gemini CLI, paid once | Say "publish my site" in Gemini CLI, or in Gemini Spark where custom apps are available, and the site lands on yoursite.saylive.site or your own domain, included. A contact form, a review link with screenshots, versions and rollback. The same connector works in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. Static sites only. | €99 once, after 30 days free |

Let Gemini publish it: the SayLive connector
SayLive is a connector over the Model Context Protocol. In Gemini CLI it is one line of configuration; in the Gemini app it is a custom app for Spark, where Google offers it. Once added, Gemini has a publish tool and the site goes from the conversation to a live address with no upload and no deploy dashboard.
- In Gemini CLI, add SayLive to ~/.gemini/settings.json: { "mcpServers": { "saylive": { "httpUrl": "https://mcp.saylive.ai/mcp" } } }, then run /mcp auth saylive.
- Sign in or create your SayLive account in the browser window that opens. That is what links the two.
- Ask Gemini to build the site in the project folder, or open the one it already made.
- Say "publish my site". Gemini sends the files, SayLive checks them, and you get the live address back.
- To change anything later, ask Gemini and say "publish" again. Every publish is a version you can roll back to.
In the Gemini app, where custom apps for Spark are available, open Settings & help, then Connected Apps, and add a custom app with the same address.
Paste this to Gemini
If the SayLive connector is available, publish this site with it and give me the live address. If it is not, stop and tell me: I will add it with the address https://mcp.saylive.ai/mcp.
The connector address is https://mcp.saylive.ai/mcp. The docs cover every assistant.
When SayLive is the wrong answer
SayLive publishes static sites: pages, styles, scripts that run in the browser, images. If your Gemini project needs accounts, a database or code that runs on a server, it is a web application, and Vercel or Netlify with a repository is the right home for it.
If Gemini is your only assistant and you are outside the United States, the connector runs in Gemini CLI, which is a terminal. If that is a step too far, the files Gemini wrote can be handed to Claude or ChatGPT, where the same connector publishes them: SayLive belongs to none of the assistants, and the brand memory belongs to the site.
A site published with SayLive stays yours as files: download any version as a ZIP and host it anywhere, any time.
Questions
Can Gemini publish a website by itself?
No. Gemini previews a site in Canvas and shares it as a link that opens inside Gemini, but it does not host a site on an address of its own. Publishing needs a host you upload to, or a connector such as SayLive that Gemini uses from the conversation.
Does SayLive work with Gemini?
Yes, over the Model Context Protocol. Gemini CLI takes the connector everywhere, in one line of settings. The Gemini app takes custom apps in Gemini Spark only, for personal accounts in the United States, as of 13 September 2026.
Do I need to export a ZIP from Gemini?
Not with a connector. Gemini sends the files to SayLive directly over the Model Context Protocol, and the site is live before you have opened a folder. A ZIP is only needed for the options where you upload the site yourself, like Netlify Drop or Just Publish.
What does it cost to publish a Gemini website with SayLive?
€99 once, after a free 30-day trial during which the site is already online with a small banner. Hosting, your own domain, the contact form and updates through your assistant are included, and there is no subscription: the whole price is one line.
Free for 30 days. Two minutes, no credit card.
